Our History

Siri Guru Singh Sabha, Hounslow, is a cornerstone of the Sikh community in London, deeply rooted in history and tradition. What began as two scout huts on Hibernia Road has grown into a vital spiritual and community center, thanks to the support and generosity of the local Sikh community. Through donations and community contributions, we expanded the Gurdwara, culminating in the opening of the Main Gurdwara building in November 1992.

With the increasing demand for community services, our estate further expanded to include the New Complex, which was inaugurated by the late HM Queen Elizabeth in October 2004. Today, our Gurdwara offers over a hundred free services to the public. The Main Building includes administrative offices, a large dining hall that provides over 5,000 free meals weekly, and the Darbar Hall, which welcomes everyone to pray. The New Complex houses a Community Centre, Education Centre, Library, and Exhibition Hall, further enhancing our ability to serve the community.

The Sikh Faith

Our mission is grounded in the core teachings of Sikhism, as passed down by the Sikh Gurus through the three foundational "Pillars of Faith." The Gurdwara serves as both a place of worship and a community hub, following these principles:

* Naam Japna: Staying focused on God through meditation and prayer.

* Kirat Karni: Earning an honest living while upholding integrity and self-sufficiency.

* Vand Chakna: Sharing with others, especially those in need, as a form of selfless service.

Guidelines for Visitors

To honor the sanctity of our space, we ask all visitors to kindly observe the following guidelines:

* Head Covering: Please ensure your head is covered. Scarves are available upon request.

* Shoe Removal: Kindly remove your shoes in the designated Shoe Deposit Area.

* Prohibited Items: Refrain from bringing any intoxicants such as alcohol, drugs, or tobacco.

    Our Values

The core values that guide our actions are:

    * Simran (Meditation): We encourage the practice of daily meditation to connect with the Divine.

    * Seva (Selfless Service): Service to humanity is a fundamental principle of Sikhism. We actively encourage volunteerism and acts of kindness within our community.

    * Sangat (Community): We foster a strong and united community where everyone feels welcome and supported.

    * Langar (Free Community Kitchen): We offer langar, a free meal service, open to all regardless of background or belief.
